Call to Church Plant
I was born and raised in Southaven, Mississippi. My father has been a pastor for approximately 45 years. I was baptized at the age of seven, and attended church every Sunday. The only problem was that I did not have a relationship with God. At the age of twenty-one I truly asked God to come into my life and save me. God has continued to transform my life daily.

I preached my first sermon in June 2004 on father’s day. My father has been a wonderful mentor in my life. I’ve learned the importance of humility by watching how he treats others. Also, God divinely exposed me to three wonderful mentors that helped change my life forever, all three of these wonderful preachers homeless. They helped me to understand insights into God’s word, and they also taught me about the Spiritual battles that we face and will face. They showed me the importance of dependence on God and how to steer clear of the deceptions of the devil.

After Graduating in 2005 from the University of Memphis, I went to work for Youth Villages. During that initial year I knew that God wanted to strengthen my understanding of His Word, the Bible. So I started seminary at Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary (MABTS) in the summer of 2006.

In the summer of 2007 I acquired a job at FedEx Ground. I believed God was leading me to spend more time building His Kingdom, and I thought I could use the time that I spent loading trucks to witness to more people. I struggled with this for awhile because I had a wife, two kids, and a baby on the way. Nevertheless, a scripture continued to play over and over in my mind, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything else will be added.” I started rationalizing with God; I said, “Well God I heard that Paul was a tent maker, and I know he did a pretty good job at this witnessing thing.” But the scripture, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…” continued to play over and over in my mind, and it dawned on me that the disciples dropped everything. I did not know exactly which road God wanted me to take, so I continued to pray for guidance. Eventually, I came to the conclusion of leaving FedEx to pursue the calling God placed on my life. I set out to witness five days a week, hoping that God would add a way for me to support my family. About two weeks later I received a call from a fellow student in seminary, and he informed me about an internship at Germantown Baptist. They had started a program that was based on witnessing and training others how to witness, and were looking for paid interns. Well hallelujah, God’s promises never fail. Now through Germantown Baptist’s leadership, support, and organization we have partnered up to seek, save, and disciple the lost.
Now we have been in the Binghampton community for 8 years, spreading the Good News and giving back to this “work in progress” neighborhood. We have added an associate pastor, Pastor Gerald Kneeland Sr. to our church, who, along with his family, has been with us since 2012
